Built because
the courts were full.
Pickleball Cove started with a simple frustration: loving a sport but never being able to just show up and play it.
Founder James Adams got hooked on pickleball the way most people do — one game, then every game.
The problem was everything around the game. Gym time booked out weeks ahead. Community courts with rotating queues. Players waiting on the sideline. Sessions cut short because another group needed the floor.
So James built the opposite.
Pickleball Cove was designed around a simple idea: make it easier to play more pickleball, in a space that actually feels great to play in.
One private court. A premium cushioned VersaCourt surface. Your own booking. No rotating players. No waiting for a court. No staff schedule determining when you can play.
James wanted Pickleball Cove to feel less like renting gym time and more like having your own private pickleball club for the hour.
The result is a deliberately small, thoughtfully designed facility with personality, quality, and a genuine love for the game at its centre.

Privacy over volume
We could squeeze in more courts and more people. We'd rather give one group the whole space and get it right.
Quality you can feel
The cushioned surface, the lighting, the murals — none of it is accidental. Details are what separate a court from a facility.

Sport should be fun. Roger, the murals and the colours are our reminder not to take ourselves too seriously.
Roger the Pirate
The unofficial owner of the cove.
Roger turned up when the murals went on the wall and never left. He keeps an eye on the court, judges your third-shot drop harder than any referee, and firmly believes the best treasure is a Tuesday-night game with your friends.
What's next

The model is deliberately repeatable: a small, well-built private court close to where people already live. We're looking at more locations across Nova Scotia.
